Celebrating Success: The 2017 Gretna Green Wedding Fayre Extravaganza

The busiest day in Gretna Green’s wedding calendar was on Sunday 19th March when over 160 brides flocked to find out how a wedding in Gretna Green could make all their dreams come true....
Over 600 visitors attended events that were held at the three main hotels in the area: Smiths, Greens and Gretna Hall. Gretna Hall was the venue for 35 local wedding suppliers who exhibited their talents to couples looking to make their wedding extra special. Smiths at Gretna Green Hotel was the venue for live music with a great vibe all day long, which gave couples a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy sampling the hotel’s fabulous food from the award-winning 2 AA Rosette kitchen team. Many stayed on to enjoy the hotel's food and drink as they dined in to the evening. The fabulous day was topped off by a wedding fashion show held at Greens, presented by Carol Roberts Couture Bridal and Genevieve Mother of the Bride.
The team of fifteen wedding planners had a full schedule of appointments with prospective brides and grooms, conducting many a show-round of the facilities at all hotels from first thing that morning. Couples came from as far away as Aberdeen and London/Kent and it was lovely to see so many locals coming along to look at the venues and meet the local wedding suppliers.
Plans are already in place for next year’s event and a date will be announced in the near future. It certainly is an event that anyone thinking about a wedding in Gretna Green should mark in their diary.
