The Gretna Green Experience is open 7 days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm, with extending opening and closing times between April and October. The only day we’re closed is Christmas Day.
The last admission to the Gretna Green Experience is 30 minutes before closing time.

What is the Gretna Green Experience?
Take yourself on an immersive tour through the centuries of love, romance, and marriage at Gretna Green. From it’s origins in the 1200s to the iconic Blacksmith’s anvil ceremonies of today, experience the evolution of love amidst rebellion and scandal. The Famous Blacksmiths Shop museum was transformed in 2022, to offer an immersive journey through romantic tales and historical artifacts from handfasting’s and blessings to the impact of Lord Hardwicke’s marriage act in 1754.

Yes, dogs are allowed into the Gretna Green Experience. However, they must be always on a lead.
